Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 569921B. Bbl. 30" round with fixed front sight & graduated leaf musket rear sight. Blue finish with case colored lever, hammer & musket buttplate. Two band fastened forearm & straight grip stock with sling swivels. Substantial numbers of 1873 muskets were shipped to Central & South America. Many near-new condition rifles have been re-imported to the United States. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked bayonet with 18" triangular blade. Three-piece cleaning rod held in the stock compartment. Also included is a letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Serial number applied on June 24, 1903 / Type: Musket / Caliber: 44 / Received in warehouse on September 02, 1903 / Shipped from warehouse on September 18, 1903, Order number 13880". CONDITION: high condition original rifle retaining over 95% original blue. The receiver and barrel bands show spotted light pitting. The lever, hammer & buttplate have over 75% lightly faded case colors. Original wood finish shows some deep dents on the stock & forearm. Bright near excellent bore.
